Character

Name: Kaí (Keikoku) Ichiro Byakuran, Sixteenth Head of Byakuran Clan
Nickname: Kaí, Kuran, Ichi, Kei-San, Ichi-San
Age (Appearance/Actual): 24/654
Birth Date: January 31, 1358
Gender: Male
Non-Zanpakutō Weapon(s): Two Swords He Keeps Concealed In His Clothing, Retractable.
Personality: Even in the most dangerous and hectic of times, Byakuran manages to remain calm. This keeps his thoughts cool and collected in battle, and not strewn about - keeping him from focusing on the task at hand. He has some pretty great ideas flowing around in his head, which would credit his reputation as a creative thinker. Most of the time though, these ideas are unorthodox and unrealistic, which make people unsure of his thoughts. He has earned the reputation of being quite chivalrous. This was brought on by his extreme respect for women and children, and being a very proper person. Ex -Captain Byakuran was an exceptional athlete, and was known for his physical prowess. Therefore he was in good shape and was capable of holding his own in most fights. Kaí has been known to be rather compassionate. Which would mean he understands and respects someones needs and concerns by listening well and making an effort to see issues from their point of view.

He loves to fight, but there is always the fear of battle - in the back of his mind. He is always terrified that he may die, but without that thought, he would be very arrogant. Keikoku is to brave for his own good. This gets him in a ton of trouble because he will mouth off to someone way more powerful than him, and still keep his sense of bravery. In a battle, he has the ability to look past his feelings. He would do anything that it takes to win, and will begin to ignore love, or an ally in a fight - and do whatever he needs to. This makes him overlook what is important, friends, family and civilians. He never strays from the path of his allies, he always is by them - no matter the circumstances. Got an order to give, but another minion won't do it? Call him up, he will do it as long as you are on his side - to prove his "hardcore" loyalty. This is bad, due to the fact that he would instantly take the chance to die to save someone, as opposed to thinking the situation over. He is always thinking people are going to leave him, or people are always wanting to hurt him. This usually keeps people away, because it is pretty difficult to be friends with someone that always thinks you are out to get them. This paranoia causes him to lose a lot of people near to him, mainly friends.

Even though he is now a visored, he still swears his allegiance to that of the Soul Society. That brings his loyalty into play, and his never faltering from the path of allies. Even though he lives in the shadows of the world, trying to blend in as much as possible - he still has some fear that his old friends and comrades may betray him. A life of constant fighting, running and worry has plagued him for many, many years now. Even though he has become 'possessed' by an inner hollow, he still tries to maintain his composure and be very optimistic, even though he can be quite depressed - most of the time. His mind is a constant battleground of his emotions, and he can come across very bipolar at times - but he can also be seen as a really great, genuinely swell guy.

Physical Appearance: Kaí has wickedly dark, crimson eyes which show a hint of mystery, but also a bit of brutality. His skin really brings out his eyes, because of how pale the tint is - it is much like red lights being set out of a porcelain plate. Keikoku has long, black, flowing hair that drapes down to the nape of his neck, and has bangs that come just a bit over his nose, but are maintained - out of his face. The sides of his hair are always pushed over his ears, exposing them so he can actually hear. Style wise, his hair is somewhat messy, because he honestly doesn't take the time of day to sort it out, thus he lets his hair do its own thing. All three colors are really beautiful together, and bring out the true beauty that is Kaí. His body is incredibly well toned, muscle wise - and they are very compact to, to allow speed and maneuverability. He stands at roughly 6'0" and weighs a nice little one-hundred-seventy pounds, allowing him to be muscular and proportional. Seeing as he is no longer in the soul society, he can always be found in a suit - because that is the only attire he deems appropriate for himself; and no crappy suits, he only gets the most expensive, designer suits. His face shows off some pretty amazing cheek bones, that really sculpt his face properly - and he has a silver cross earring.
Theme Song: Bring Me The Horizon - Crucify Me

Bio:
In The Beginning

Keikoku Byakuran was born to the parents, Akeuyota Tsukihime and Kagome Byakuran. Technically he was a normal child, healthy baby boy, but there was something "special" about him. Kei was born with a rather impressive spiritual pressure for a baby, and that was renowned in the community. Things like that would get him special treatment from all the females in the community, young and old, and respect from the elders and younger males. The only people that actually didn't give him special treatment, in the sense that things were handed straight to him, were the men of the area. They could have cared less if he was powerful, he had to earn his way like anyone else.

Kei-San was about a year and a half old when he began to talk, and walk - which from certain studies, is pretty damn impressive. As soon as he could do these things, he began to "train" to learn to read. Most of the things he was forced to read were to greatly increase his vocabulary and to make his mind a force to be reckoned with. At that age, the brain is like duct tape, so anything that the child learns - usually sticks with them. Ichi's parents intentions were to have him reading and thinking at a high school level, when he was merely a child. Of course in a normal household, that wouldn't even be a thought for a brand new, adorable baby - but the Byakuran's were not about to just let their child pass up on this potential learning period.

Knowledge Is Power

Ichiro may still be young, but in his parents eyes he was an adult - and needed to be treated as one. Even if he was still an infant, he needed to take control of the opportunity to learn things at a young age, and keep them stored for later usage. He had to be prepared, to one day take over, as Head of the Byakuran Clan. He was always told one thing,

"Keikoku, you may only be two years old, but at this stage - your mind is like a sponge. If we teach you everything that we possibly can in the few years that your mind remains like this, you will grow up to be a very intellectual man. We love you very much, and we only want the best for you - therefore we push you beyond the limits we know a normal child is capable of. You are a Byakuran though, therefore you have so much potential! So please, prove that the Byakuran clan is great, and that our son will eventually grow to be the greatest captain in all of the Gotei 13!"

One thing that he noticed, even at this age - his father was good at sweet talking, and getting someone to do something. Of course he would do anything his parents wished, for they brought him into the world, and without choices being made for him at a younger age - he would have no order to his life later on. His father had also informed him that the next year of his life would be full of non-stop studying, and a ton of reading - so he better prepare for it. This was hard for Ichi to understand, because he had just learned to read, but within a few months he was supposed to prepare for reading that was at a possible high school level of skill.

February 15: Learning Literature

A few months late on getting started with his learning, but he was diving into it like a pro. First up, was literature - both ancient and modern. The basics first, who was William Shakespeare, and where was he born? This was pretty easy stuff, Ichiro was pretty sure he would dominate it within a week, rather than the allotted time his father had given him. He learned when Shakespeare was baptized (April 26, 1564) and when he died (April 23, 1616). After basically reading Shakespeare's entire bio, Ichiro moved onto his works. To start things off, he was given a work from each genre that Shakespeare had written. Here were the works he was required to read:The Two Gentlemen of Verona, which was a comedy, King John, which was a history, Anthony and Cleopatra, which was a tragedy; Venus and Adonis, which were a collection of poems, and Arden of Faversham which was an Apocrypha.

He was quizzed on each of the works, and to his fathers surprise, got a perfect on each quiz. It would assume that he had a photographic memory, which was not the case - he was just able to retain a lot of the information, because he was warned that he might have to memorize things. Seeing as he was only a child still, his parents allowed him some downtime after the first session of studying, so he could relax. The "break" didn't really matter because he wasn't going to take it, next up was math - and he wanted to be prepared for it.

February 30: Learning Advanced Math

Seeing as Kei-San had ignored the break he was given after the literature section of his studying, he was more than prepared for the math. His father had already explained to him what would be in this section. It would include: Algebra, Calculus, Geometry/Trigonometry, and Physics. Of course he had to learn the basics of each, before even attempting to dive further into the different branches.

Cosine, Sine, and Tangent all came naturally to him, therefore Geometry and Trig were a breeze. Algebra was easy as well, the Pythagorean Theorem was easy enough, and learning differentials and about using different angles to figure out equations wasn't that bad either. Calculus and its number crunching was rather easy as well, even though it was hell for most people. Kei hadn't really known anything thus far, except that he had to study - and that he actually kind of liked it. The only part of his mathematics studies that were "somewhat" difficult, the Physics portion. That was hard for people, and learning all the equations and how to use them, and then all the theorems. It was very difficult, and he barely scraped by on learning any of it.

It was time for his father to quiz him, and he was expecting his son to fail, yet again. After grading his sons tests, he realized something - his son always made higher scores than him. Perfects in every category, with the exception of physics, which would still be considered an A in the grading system. This was truly interesting, a little boy that wasn't even old enough to go into proper school - and he was smarter than most of the adults of the Realm of the Living. After the testing period was over, he was allowed some more time to rest, this period was longer than the others - and this time, he decided to take the opportunity to rest.

March 12: Learning Fighting Techniques/Styles

Byakuran was granted a little bit over a month to rest before training anymore. This time he was going to actually be required to be physical. The past tests had been all knowledge based, and were rather easy, but in this case - he would need to learn how to fight, and then defeat his father in a match. It would be somewhat difficult, but nothing Keikoku didn't think he could handle - he was up for any form of "game."

First off were the basics, how to properly throw a punch, how to kick, and how to use weapons to your advantage. He didn't train alongside his father though, he was forced to train with a man that had mastered the art of hand-to-hand fighting combat. Naturally the only way to get very good at something is to train with someone that has already mastered said skill. Even though Kei was a child, this man did not hesitate to give him his full power. At the end of the training sessions, Ichi-San would come out bruised, bloodied, and more of a man each time. Easily by the third day, there was already a noticeable enough improvement in the way he fought, and the way his muscles appeared. Kicking and punching - the basics of fighting, were now easily performed by Ichiro, with grace and extreme power.

Using weapons to his advantage was the last bit of his training, which didn't seem that hard. He couldn't have been any further from the truth at this point. Brass knuckles to the face, that was very painful; a sword to the arm, was also painful. He was taught to become at least an amateur with each style of weapon: nun-chucks, swords, knives, clubs, and even axes. After a little more time, he learned to dominate with weapons, and could even get his teacher on the ground - a blade to his neck, and force him to surrender.

In this section of his training, there was no real test, that was at least pointed out to him. The test was kept a secret from him, and he had literally just completed it. If Ichiro could get his teacher on his back, and get a surrender from him - then he passed. He did just that, so without even fighting his father - he passed and was on to the next section. As before, he was allowed a break - and this time he took it yet again, he decided he needed to rest and study. He was tricked though, this was the end of his training, which was explained to him later.

To Have A Dream

When Ichiro was growing up he always wanted to be a Soul Reaper, because he had read so many interesting things about them. His father had been a member of squad ??, and he wanted to follow suit. In a conversation he had with Mr. Byakuran, Kei-San even said, "Father I would like to join the ranks of the Shinigami, more specifically the ranks of Squad ??. Not that I would like a rank of high power.... just to be in the ranks, and to be part of something greater." His father always loved him very much, not just because he was an excellent child, (avoiding all troublesome activities, and never talking back to his parents) but for his attitude. He was not set on being the best, or worst, he just wanted to be in the group - and take part in something "greater."

The Academy Days

While he was enrolled in the Shinōreijutsuin, his parents were murdered by a Vasto Lorde. They had gone on a routine mission (back when these were permitted) to Hueco Muendo, to destroy the source of the higher powered hollows. Without knowledge of the Vasto Lordes, Akeuyota and Kagome were eliminated. The idea of the Vasto Lordes struck fear into Keikoku anyway, but now that they had killed his parents, he was absolutely terrified of them. With the goal of avenging his parents in mind, he began to train non-stop, and very diligently. When he graduated from the academy, he was offered a 5th seat in Squad ??, but turned it down - saying "That makes me look like I have just shot to the top, because my father was in this Squad. Please don't make me hated by the others, if you wish to give me a seat; give me one that is not too high but not too low either."

A New Found Power: Life As A Shinigami!

The academy taught the basics of what a Shinigami was meant to know: kido, hakudo, and zanjutsu. Of course no one would know Ichiro as soon as he entered the academy, so he was very nervous. To his surprise, no one made remarks about his hair being a different color - and he felt accepted for a change. But this was no time for him to get all emotional, he was being trained to fight, protect, and serve.

He was started off training in hakudo, because he had proved learned a deadly fighting style when he was younger.. In the beginning he had to train on just dummies, that were motionless. This was not exactly perfect training for someone, but taught novices how to throw a punch, and where to hit an enemy to incapacitate them - which Ichiro already knew from his previous experience. He had to be moved up to actual opponents, which pinned him against students that were near graduation, and were more used to being "dead" than he was. That still tripped him up, the fact that he was dead - which made him get his ass kicked a few times. He eventually came around though, and was able to prove himself as a tough opponent - and that he had the ability to kick some major ass.

The second thing that was taught to Ichiro was zanjutsu, the art of the sword. It was not his fists, but he did enjoy swinging a sword around - and he was pretty decent at it too. Of course just swinging it around and actually fighting with swords were two completely different things. When sparring, he was even lucky if he could break his opponents block, or even block their attacks. Despite constantly being knocked on his ass, he got back up and kept trying to pass this obstacle. After non-stop training and countless hours of meditation and thinking about how to win, he was able to defeat opponents. He learned rather quick and was able to formulate strategies on the spot - which made him a great asset. He had proven himself again, even though he was not as good at zanjutsu as he was at hakudo - he had still shown off and was noticed for it.

Finally he had to learn kido - which was the hardest thing he had ever done. To be completely honest he was shit with it. The one spell that most students were taught was Shakkahō, and that was used to hit a target about 10 meters away. He couldn't hit the target to save his life, much less manifest his energy into a stable attack. Every time he used the attack it just blew up in his face, and made him look pathetic. He could do everything in the academy, BUT use kido. His determination had began to sit in though, and he practiced and practiced, till he could only think about kido. This is around the time that he was able to successfully shoot off about 3 Shakkahō in a row. It was obvious that he was not very great at kido, but he still had showed that he could pass the test like anyone else, which only meant one thing - graduation.

It had already been six years of his new life, that he had spent in the academy. It hadn't even felt that long, more like a week, but it was really a six year period of his life. He had finally fulfilled his promise to a friend, Eon, that he would become a Shinigami - a way of saying "Thanks for saving me." Most of the Shinigami from the academy were moving into squads, and obtaining seated ranks - which made him very jealous. Was he not strong enough for a position like that, or was he just not ready to be in a squad in general? But he had remembered one thing - he was always welcome in Squad ??, the words spoken to him by the Shinigami that he owed his life to. In no time he was a member of the ?? division, even though he wasn't a seated rank - he was still happy to be in a division. Just being a recruit didn't matter, it meant he could climb the ladder himself, and find out where his powers could take him - whether they keep him at the bottom, or take him all the way to the top. This was the beginning of a great thing for Ichiro, and he was prepared for his exciting, new life.

Honing The Skills of Shinigami!

Now that he was actually a member of a squad, it was time for him to bust his ass to rank up. He was only a recruit, but that didn't mean he couldn't prove himself to the captain and his fellow squad mates. He had noticed which areas he was relatively weak in, and decided that he should fix them up to be "balanced." This involved progressing pass beginner stages in kido and several other things, and tying them all together to become the "perfect shinigami."

The use of kido was something that he was very terrible with. The spells usually exploded in his face and made him look like a fool. In his mind he had a goal, to spend 100 years to train, before trying to achieve a seated position within the squad. Zanjutsu, Kido, and his shikai would be things that he would spend at least 20+ years on, each. But instead of the general hack and slash training, Keikoku would take a more spiritual route - meditation.

For kido training, he would have to meditate and concentrate - trying to use kido with his eyes closed. After he felt comfortable enough, after countless years of pure meditation, he was able to conquer most of the kido spells - with the exception of the advanced and mastered kido. After the span of one-hundred years, he could do many things. Kido was able to be used without blowing up in his face, and he could even use several higher level kido now. He could now perform swordsmanship that was on-par with the captains, and he could actually control his shikai at their levels as well.

At first it was assumed that Ichi had no shikai, just like Captain Zenpachi. With no ability to call it to battle, everyone was sure he would just be another brute. Until he was assigned a mission with two other squad members, in the world of the living. Several Menos had been spotted in Karakura town, and seeing as the new recruits had no experience yet, the captain deemed this the appropriate task for them.

Now that he had graduated the academy, Kei decided he would spend more time studying. For years he sat and studied, ignoring any form of social activity with anyone but his squad mates. Drinking heavily to "help" with his depression, and sitting back and reading - that is how he spent his time. Occasionally he would stop reading, and stop drinking - long enough to get some crazy workouts in. Over the next few years he would become, more intelligent, faster, stronger, and lonelier.

Training Really Pays Off.

After all of his hard work, Keikoku had actually been recognized by the Captain Commander, for his prowess in his ability. Even though he was just a small recruit in a squad, he had shown himself in combat, on his missions, and as an intellectual - and that would not go unrewarded. Unlike the other Captain's, in the beginning, Kei didn't even have a bankai - nor was he capable of manifesting it. Apparently during his Captain's test, he had proven himself enough to be allowed admittance without a bankai, which was quite exceptional. Due to his innovative thinking and out-of-the-box ideas, he was put in charge of the Research and Development section of the Soul Society. This is where he found his true calling, both as an intelligent mind and a man in a leadership position. He was now in charge of all the research that was to be done in the Seireitei, but not only that - in the realm of the living, for the Shinigami that would venture there - and that of the Soul Society in its entirety. But he wasn't simply limited to his accomplishments or anything he would achieve whilst in the department, he was now a man of leadership - a Captain, and he was in charge of a group of Shinigami, that were not just intellectuals - but warriors as well, even if they were not the most advanced.

Zanpakutō

Zanpakutō spirit:
"Jen":

Keikoku's zanpakuto spirit is Jen, a very wise, powerful samurai. He is a stern, wise individual that above all still manages to have fun, even though he is trapped within a blade. Jen always speaks to Kaí in parables and various verses of Confucious and various other philosophers; which always seems to irritate Keikoku, due to his inability to understand. Sensei Jen is a rather small man, standing at about 5'11", just a bit shorter than Kaí himself and he weighs in at about 150 pounds. He can be seen within his domain, sporting a powder blue kimono covered in white lilies, but also has purple wrist trimmings and a purple sash that drapes around his waist. The spirit has long black hair which drapes to around the small of his back, and he tends to keep it in a pony-tail because it keeps it out of his eyes during combat. When he is just lurking around and chatting with Kaí , when he goes inside of his inner world to meditate, his hair is loose and hangs freely down his back. Jen tends to wear reading glasses, which are rather small and don't even cover his eyes entirely - just enough for him to be able to look down and see through them slightly. He jokes all the time saying he really doesn't need them, but he feels much more intelligent if he has the spectacles on, and that Kaí will take him more seriously - but that isn't true.

Jen is a man with a fiery compassion for loyalty, excellence in all fields, but he also is a major patron for all acts of war. Anything that abides by the laws of bushido is acceptable in his book, but also in the codes of chivalry. He has studied much into many of the worlds forms of conduct for warriors and has taken snippets from each civilization - building up his own code which is unnamed, as of now. As stated above, he speaks in parables much like Jesus Christ, and most of his 'lessons' actually teach Kaí something; when they are of course, not screwing with his head and making him discombobulated. Together they understand each other, they understand the world better and are capable of improving each others combat abilities. Jen has many distinct stylings of holding his blade, but he has taught them all to Keikoku and has even created fusion types where he mixes samurai and knight swordplay and etc. Quick strikes, heavy strikes, precise strikes and even lethal blows are all parts of these new stylings which when combined, prove to be insanely challenging for any kind of foe.
Inner world:
"Inside":

"Outside":

Jen lives in the Byakuran estate which has been manifested within the zanpakuto, just for Jen's personal use. It looks like an old school Japanese dojo/house, which has a zen garden in the front and a pond in the front as well, which is full of Koi. The estate is surrounded by several large cherry blossom trees and even some willows which were imported from elsewhere. The side panels of the building are white, which are also tiled in every other spot with grey wood panel. The roof is also made of the same dark grey paneling which expands all around, and on the North, South, West and East sides of the house, on the roof of course, have individual curved pieces of wood. In the very front of the house on the tip of the wooden growth there is a crest which is the Byakuran family crest and is a lion grasping a blade. The trees in the courtyard are various colors and shades of: red, yellow, green and white; with the occasional pink. It is a very beautiful site, which is why Jen chose to mimic such a home. The inside is very well decorated, showing that it is owned by exceptionally wealthy people that choose to live their life very profusely. The living room is almost the size of a grand ball room, with several large leather sectionals and lazy boy chairs. In the center there is a massive white oak table which has been etched with the lions of the family crest as the legs of the table, and above this table hands a chandelier of pure gold. The floor is ebony wood paneled, which is very expensive and makes the room seem even large and allows the light to be everywhere, also it conceals the 'palace' at night. It is fashioned with old fashioned sliding oak doors, just like in most Japanese movies/culture, and houses several people - some of which are not even part of the Byakuran bloodline. There is a dojo through a few doors from the living room, which is where Jen spends most of his time. It is decked out with very expensive spiritual training gear which is impervious to extreme amounts of damage, which allows it to be reusable for whoever needs it - which was Keikoku's idea for when he needs to train a shinigami to hone their abilities. There is also a dormitory area in the center of the estate, which lies next to the botanical garden/aviary. Inside this dormitory are several beds which house anyone that needs a place to stay for a while - but also, conceals a master bedroom. It is located with a door that is hidden, and looks like just a wall. Within this room is a red maple bed, which was hand carved and etched again with lions for the legs. The headboard has the family crest on it, but also has various other pieces of furniture within it (the room), but none are particularly important enough to be mentioned.

Shikai

Shikai name: Jenshin
Sealed form:
"Jen Sealed":

There is nothing special about Keikoku's Zanpakuto, with the exception that it is a ninja's blade, not a katana. It has a standard wooden saya, that is black. The top of the saya has a black bow tied to it. The tsuba itself is thin, black and square. On the inside of the tsuba, there are three little symbols, that without the handle, would resemble the three water droplet-like marks from around his pupils, and on his mask. The handle has black thread rapped around it, and exposes a small diamond pattern up to the tsuba. The diamonds themselves are black and silver, because the wood for the handle underneath is originally black, but with a silvery finish. The blade itself, however, is not steel but is instead made of obsidian. In the center is a small golden symbol (not using the actual symbol, it is time to improvise), which is his family crest.
Shikai:
"Jen Released":
There is nothing special about Keikoku's shikai, with the exception that it is a not like the average katana. It has a standard wooden saya, that is brown. The top of the saya has a two golden rings, which are used to hoist it over your shoulders like a sling. The tsuba itself is thin, but golden and "U" shaped. On the inside of the tsuba, there are three little symbols, which are the Kanji markings of "Love, Live, Die." The handle has light-brown thread rapped around it, and exposes a small diamond pattern up to the tsuba. The diamonds themselves are somewhat golden. The blade itself, however, is no longer made of obsidian, but is now made of regular steel again - but is much more resilient than regular steel. In the middle of the saya there are two "S" marks, which expand off each other in the opposite directions of the object, North and South. These two markings are gold also, to match the rest of the blade. The blade is also somewhat indented down the middle of its body, to allow more air to pass through it giving it more 'umph' as it is swung in any direction at an enemy. The blade is also curved a bit more than a normal katana, which is to allow it to cut straight through the air with little to no air-resistance at all.

Jen’s shikai power is the ability to convert Kaí’s spiritual energy into shards of ice. While certain techniques, not yet known to him, can do so much more, the basic ability is as follows. But allow for some time for elaboration on this ability. The different shards of ice can come in all shapes and sizes, and is not limited to any particular size. The only exception to this would be single shards the size of a bus, which is totally impossible for Kaí seeing as he hasn't had this ability for a very long time. The different shards can be dull, blunt or even sharp - the intensity of each option can be controlled by him, to an extreme - by the amount of spirit Kaí has, and this will be explained more within techniques.

Keikoku channels spiritual energy into his zanpakuto, and releases it all in the form of hundreds of shards of ice. The different shards of ice as said before can be any shape/size/content of "feel," but also have another component - texture. They can be smooth or rough depending on what is needed/wanted by Keikoku or Jen themselves. When used, ice shards begin scattering outwards as they head towards the opponent, resembling a "V" shape as they spread (much like how birds fly). The further away the opponent, the harder it is to hit them, as the shards disperse too far away from each other, the ability becomes useless, and doesn't even harm the enemy.

Bankai

Bankai name: Kōri rerumu no ō bunsan, Jenshin (Disperse, King of the Icy Realm - Jenshin)

Bankai description: When Keikoku uses his bankai, Idaina Senshi, two things change about him that are very noticeable. One of those things would be his zanpakuto. The transition from released state to shikai involved it shrinking, and the sheathe changed color. It is not shrinking this time, but instead it is actually extending - as for the colors, they have changed yet again. The tiny ribbon attached to the sheathe has now moved slightly downward, and has turned into more of a rope material than a ribbon, and wraps around several times in the middle of the sheathe. On either sides of the rope are two metal clasps, which extend outward with a loop like rope attachment, which can be used to "hook" to any form of clothing, or even a sling like item.

But for the blade, not only the sheathe changes - the entire sword gets a cosmetic upgrade. Just like in shikai, the bankai also shares the white thread around the handle, with a golden diamond pattern up until the hilt. The only difference is the amount of diamonds in the pattern and the color is much stronger now, so it is more noticeable. The head of the sheathe is capped in silver, as well as the base of the hilt, which is basically a physical manifestation of his wealth, in the form of his zanpakuto. The cap that resides on the base of the hilt also has something special about it - it bares the insignia of the Byakuran clan. As stated above though, the sheathes color changed from unsealed to shikai, but shikai to bankai is different, the only thing that happens is the ribbon disappears - which leaves the sheathe to be entirely white. And the tsuba changes from black to silver, and bares resemblance to a cross. Unlike a traditional cross, the tsubas edges strike resemblance to a "bow" shape.

When entering Bankai, Keikoku's garments of clothing change too. The outfit has two colors, white and black - which are derived from his regular Shikaushyou, and his Captain's Haori. In Bankai the two different articles of clothing fuse together, in order to make a an outfit that was "void" of the other two. The garbs resemble a trench-coat, but is not really a trench-coat. It can be separated into two sections: upper and lower, and will be described as such. The upper portion, which would just be considered, in layman's terms, a shirt. The top is mainly white, with a few black stripes, on the torso and sleeve area. There is an upper collar, as well as a lower collar, which is not necessarily important - but is sort of needed for the overall look description. Underneath the garbs is a basic ninja-like outfit, that is all black, but has a collar, which comes out of the top of the overall outfit, and is laid to the side. Both collars are laid back, but the MAIN collar is extended back to the shoulder portion of the suit. There is also a black scarf that comes during transformation, that wraps around the neck and extends half-way down the suit. The bottom of the suit can be described very easily - it is equal to the bottom of the Shikaushyou, with the exception that the colors are reversed, and there are more stripes - in this case, that are black. From the crotch area down, with space, there are five buttons, which hold the front of the bottom of the suit in place - without them the front would be open.

Upon entering Bankai, Keikoku takes his zanpakuto in his hand and does something not many Shinigami would ever dream of doing. In a quick, fluid motion, he crushes his zanpakuto - allowing the debris from it to surround him completely. After the debris sets, and Keikoku stands in the cloud of what used to be his Zanpakuto, he can then manipulate it - well the reishi that is leftover (Zanpakuto are made of reishi, that has to be added for purposes, if the reader didn't know). Like in Shikai, he can manipulate his personal reishi, and the reishi surround him - converting said reishi into ice shards. That same ability applies to his Bankai, but on a much larger level.

In Bankai he is capable of creating an "ocean" of icy shards behind him, just as long as the Zanpakuto was crushed completely and supplied an adequate amount of reishi for him to work with. If the amount was good enough, the icicle ocean would form, if not - then it would dissipate. But in that case, which usually is the case, that there is enough reishi - it is all instantly turned into reishi. With the ocean being up, he is then allowed to convert the reishi surrounding him in ice, and add those icicles to the "group." There are limitations on this ability, like any ability, here they are. Another persons reishi can not be used (opponent or ally) by any means. Of course there is also a restriction on how much of the reishi surround Keikoku can be used, which I assume staff will dictate that when the time comes.

It mimics the shikai, thus being shot out in a massive "V" like shape. It causes severe cold, which would make weaker enemies freeze and run away. But seeing as it is sharp shards, it has the ability to eliminate limbs and so on.

Heh imo you wrote a lot but did not say anything.

So there is an ocean... and?

I need you to clearly state what the EFFECT of this ability is ON the enemy.
The limitations are that he cannot use another person's reishi?

Reishi surrounding Keikoku = reishi that is in the ground, buildings, etc?

You need to be clearly with this kind of stuff...
